Closeboard (Feather Edge) Gates
Our Closeboard Gates, also known as Feather Edge Gates, are a popular choice across the UK and throughout Europe. Built to last and available Made to Measure in any size you require, these gates combine strength, style, and durability.
We offer two types of Closeboard Gates:
Ledged & Braced (L&B) – our standard option, offering solid reliability.
Framed, Ledged & Braced (FLB) – our most popular, heavy-duty design, providing extra strength and a more robust structure.
The Framed, Ledged & Braced (FLB) gate is constructed with mortice and tenon joints for superior durability and rigidity. We’ve built a strong reputation for manufacturing FLB Closeboard Gates thanks to our competitive prices and quick turnaround times.
Each gate is clad with 100mm (4") sawn feather edge boards, and the frames are smoothly finished on both gate types. Gates are supplied pre-treated in either Brown (Tanatone) or Green (Tanalith ‘E’) for long-lasting protection.
In May 2019, we introduced an upgraded design, featuring 95mm rails throughout for an even sturdier and more robust feel.
